Speaker - Medway Gaming Festival! 🎤

I am very excited to share my experience of my first appearance as a speaker at Game Dev Local Showcase, which was held at Medway Gaming Festival on the 15th & 16th of June! 🗓️

This weekend has been encouraging and positive as I've held my first talk(s) facilitated by Game Dev Local at the Medway Gaming Festival. 🕹

I enjoy the train journey into Chatham from Newcastle upon Tyne, as it gives me time to reflect on my notes while nursing a hot coffee to kickstart my day! ☕ Once I arrive I am greeting by an energetic and busy Stuart and I take a seat to listen to the speaker before me who shares how to build a portfolio.

Before I know it, it is my turn on the podium!

I have made extensive notes on my tablet, focusing on the talk more than a presentation. I talked about Community Management, and how to effectively master community management in the Gaming Industry. In hindsight some visuals would have been ideal so I consider this a good learning opportunity. ✨️

Overall the entire experience was positive, I enjoy sharing my knowledge of Community

Management over the past 5 years, and inspiring or helping others lies at the core of who I am as a person - no gatekeeping, I believe in sharing knowledge and resources so that we can all thrive and succeed.

There was a lot of other fantastic things to explore at the event, among them an ode to gaming through the ages with a selection of retro consoles and games.

What an incredible experience!
